Saving Your Eggbound Hen

by JJ Testa of Lunenburg, Massachusetts

For many fanciers an egg bound hen means certain death, and when it comes to a top producer the loss is sometimes irreplaceble. Saving an eggbound hen is easy and done in such a fashion that she will not lose the ability to breed again the following year. more...

Self Discipline

by Jerry Higgins of Colton, California

Birmingham Rollers! There has been enough written about this bird to fill a library. I think I have read most of what has been written in my twenty plus years in the sport, and you probably have too. How much of what has been written have you put into practice? more...

Pigeons And Politics Don't Mix

by Gonzalo Banuelos of Austin, Texas

I am a member of a few pigeon e-mail lists that many of you may be familiar with. In fact, one the most popular lists is frequently the source of many pages of the content of this bulletin. I became a member of these lists to soak in the accumulated knowledge of the many contributors and to allow me the opportunity to add my own “pearls” whenever I find that I can say something meaningful. The Replacements

by Gonzalo Banuelos of Austin, Texas

As I scanned the remainder of the assorted faces, from every corner of this "Whole Other Country", I saw only weathered and rugged roller men, some were bearded, some not. Some were sporting last football season's weight, some working on their baseball season's. All were genuine, good-hearted folk with lots to tell. more...

Automatic Water System

by Gonzalo Banuelos of Austin, Texas

One of the most time consuming chores in the day to day routine of maintaining a loft of pigeons is cleaning out and refilling the water containers. Pigeons are particularly careless of where they decide they want to evacuate their bowels, and more often than not will find the easiest target to be the same fountain or drinker that they just drank from. It's typical to see that a large concentration of the droppings in a loft are near the water drinkers. Why that is, I can't even begin to speculate. Regardless, providing your pigeons with clean water is very important. more...

The World Cup

by JJ Testa of Lunenburg, Massachusetts

I wonder sometimes how the old timers would react to the present day roller hobby, with the World Cup, and all it takes to accomplish such a massive endeavor, the NBRC fall Fly more...
